Position Summary
The Senior Account Executive is responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance. This role works closely with the Assistant Finance Manager to maintain financial accuracy, support budgeting activities, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts accurately and on time.
- Perform journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Analyse financial results and explain key variances.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Monitor actual expenses against budget.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions and cost control.
Sales Reconciliation
- Reconcile daily sales from retail and other sales channels.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure accurate revenue reporting.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls.
Business Support
- Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial information and analysis.
- Support ad-hoc finance projects and reporting as required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accurate and timely monthly financial reporting.
- Budget monitoring and variance analysis.
- Timely completion of sales reconciliations.
- Compliance with audit and statutory requirements.
- High level of financial accuracy and data integrity.
- Continuous improvement of finance processes.
- Effective support to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
- Familiar with Malaysian SST regulations.
- ACCA, CIMA, MIA or other professional accounting qualifications are an advantage.
Skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Good understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
